Hidden symbols are scattered across the entire canvas, revealing themselves only from certain angles. The closer you look, the more you find.

Imagine living with it

Still, We Return is a painting about memory — not as something left behind, but as something that continues to live within us.

The work was built through multiple layers of animals, fragments and symbols. Some figures are immediately visible, while others remain hidden within the surface, revealing themselves only from certain angles and in changing light.

They exist like traces of an inherited memory — things we carry without always knowing where they came from.

Parts of the canvas are embroidered by hand with blue thread, creating physical lines that move through the painted layers. Some remain visible, while others disappear beneath the surface, becoming part of the history of the painting itself.

Above these hidden traces, a herd of blue bulls moves together. Their bodies overlap, merge and pass through what came before them. Past and present occupy the same space.

A white crescent moon remains still among the movement — a quiet witness to everything that came before us and everything that will remain after.

Still, We Return is about our instinctive need to return to our origins — to memory, to our roots, and ultimately to ourselves.

We move forward. We change. We forget.

And still, we return.
